FAQ
What makes BBBB so special?
Grocery store pepper is often anonymous. Mass-farmed, sourced from wherever's cheapest, and left to sit for a long time before it reaches you.
BBBB is the opposite. Every batch comes from a small, curated farm, hand-vetted and traceable. You'll always know exactly what you're getting.
Why does BBBB's origin change with each edition, and where's it from right now?
Each edition of BBBB comes from a single, named origin in Asia. That means a new place on the map to try each time. Right now, it's a family-run farm on Phu Quoc, an island off of Vietnam's southern coast chosen for its soil and biodiversity.
When do I use BBBB versus Debut Blend or Kiri Smoke?
Most people reach for BBBB for everyday cooking, and Debut Blend or Kiri Smoke for finishing touches or special occasions. Different job, same standard, so there's no wrong choice.
How should I use BBBB?
Liberally! Layer it into your sauces, grind it over mains, finish it over dessert. Be the magician of your own kitchen: BBBB is happy to go wherever your curiosity takes it.
How should I store BBBB?
Keep it in a cool, dry place. Each refill sachet holds 16g/0.56oz. Whole peppercorns keep for 3–4 years, though for best aroma, use within a year of your harvest edition.
Can I put my BBBB in any pepper grinder?
Technically, yes, you'll still get good pepper. But that's a bit like eating soup with a fork: possible, just a worse way to do it. Piper Oudo is built to unlock everything BBBB and other Piper pepper have to offer, down to the last crack. Use another grinder if you insist. We won't judge (much).
