Piper Care Limited Warranty: Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 14 October 2026
1. About these terms
1.1 Piper Care is offered by Piper Labs Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202523110Z), a company incorporated in Singapore ("Piper", "we", "us"). Piper Care is a limited warranty. These terms explain that limited warranty on your Piper grinder and the benefits of Piper Care membership.
1.2 This version of Piper Care covers Piper pepper grinders purchased new from piper.now or an authorised Piper retailer. It does not apply to second-hand units purchased from third parties, except where the grinder was given to you as a gift (see clause 9).
1.3 Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the consumer laws of the country where you live. Piper Care is given in addition to those rights. See clause 13.
2. Definitions
2.1 Manufacturing defect means a fault in materials or workmanship present when the grinder left us.
2.2 Registration means registering your grinder at https://www.piper.now/care or through the QR code in your manual. Except for the deadlines in clause 5, you can register at any time, including when you first contact us about an issue.
2.3 Active subscriber means a customer with a Piper pepper subscription that is active and not paused or cancelled.
2.4 Internal metal parts means the shaft, spring, bearings and inner burr.
2.5 Delivery date means the date your order was delivered. If we cannot confirm it (for example, for a gift), we use the release date of your grinder's batch plus 60 days.
3. Arrival cover (automatic)
3.1 If any part of your grinder arrives faulty, damaged or missing, or shows a manufacturing defect within 30 days of delivery, we will replace that part free, including shipping. You do not need to register for this. Your rights under consumer law also apply from delivery whether or not you register (see clause 13).
3.2 We will, at our choice, send a replacement part, repair the grinder or replace it.
4. Piper Care
You must register your grinder with us to receive Piper Care. Registration is free (see clause 2.2). Arrival cover under clause 3 and your rights under consumer law do not depend on registration.
4.1 Piper Care. Register your grinder and you receive: free replacement, including shipping, of internal metal parts that fail from a manufacturing defect for 3 years from delivery; access to genuine spare parts at member prices; and priority support. Wooden and external parts are covered only under clause 3.
4.2 Piper Care for subscribers. While you are an active subscriber with a registered grinder, you also receive 33% off all replacement parts. This happens automatically; there is nothing extra to sign up for.
4.3 Status changes. If you pause or cancel your subscription, the subscriber discount stops from that date and resumes if you resubscribe. Your other Piper Care cover is not affected.
4.4 Subscriber benefits are a perk of an active subscription and are not a condition of the cover in clause 3 or clause 4.1.
5. Kickstarter units and earlier orders
5.1 Kickstarter units. Grinders purchased through the Piper Kickstarter campaign (15 July to 5 August 2025), including those gifted by backers, are not covered by clause 3. Backers who register by 13 December 2026 receive 33% off replacement parts until that date, and Piper Care under clause 4 from registration. Kickstarter units not registered by 13 December 2026 are not covered by Piper Care.
5.2 Earlier orders. Grinders purchased from our online store (piper.now) or through official retail channels before 14 October 2026 are covered for manufacturing defects until 31 January 2027. Register before that date to receive Piper Care under clause 4 after it. Earlier orders not registered by 31 January 2027 are not covered by Piper Care.
6. What is covered
Within the applicable cover period, Piper Care covers:
-
parts that arrive faulty, damaged or missing (clause 3);
-
manufacturing defects in any part within 30 days of delivery (clause 3);
-
manufacturing defects in internal metal parts for 3 years from delivery (clause 4.1), such as a loose or chipped inner burr, a broken spring or a failed bearing.
7. What is not covered
Piper Care does not cover:
-
after the first 30 days, any wooden or outer part of the grinder (the body, handle, MagPlate, outer burr, and the metal sleeve fixed inside the wood), including wood that pops out, cracks or shifts;
-
damage from grinding anything the grinder is not designed for, including salt and oily, wet or corrosive spices in a pepper grinder;
-
damage from water, soaking, moisture, dishwashers, heat or open flame;
-
drops, impacts, scratches, misuse or modification;
-
repairs or alterations not carried out or approved by Piper;
-
lost or stolen parts;
-
normal wear, and the natural character of wood over time, including grain change, patina and colour change;
-
cosmetic variation in grain, colour or figure between grinders.
Parts for anything not covered are available to purchase: registered owners pay member prices, and anyone else can purchase through our support team at full price.
8. How to make a claim
8.1 Email info@piper.now or choose Piper Care on our contact form within 30 days of noticing the issue. Include your order number or your grinder's batch number (included with your grinder), a photo or short video of the issue, and your shipping address. If you have not registered, we will ask you to register first.
8.2 We aim to respond within 2 business days. If the claim is accepted, we send the specific replacement part with fitting instructions. If it is not covered, we send a link to purchase the part at your price.
8.3 We may ask you to return the faulty part. If we do, we will tell you how to return it and whether we cover the shipping.
8.4 Shipping is included on all replacement parts, whether covered by Piper Care or paid for.
9. Gifts and transfers
Cover follows the grinder. If you received a Piper as a gift, register it in your own name and you receive any cover remaining from the delivery date. If you are giving a Piper, pass the batch number on so the recipient can register. Subscriber benefits are personal to the subscriber and do not transfer.
10. Member prices and discounts
Member prices and discounts apply to replacement parts ordered on piper.now or through links our support team sends. They cannot be combined with other offers unless we say so, have no cash value, and may not be resold.
11. Changes to Piper Care
11.1 We may change these terms or close Piper Care to new members by posting updated terms on piper.now with at least 30 days' notice.
11.2 Changes apply to registrations made after the change. If you registered before a change, the cover you joined with continues on the terms in force when you registered, unless the change is more favourable to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability under Piper Care is limited to repairing or replacing the grinder or part, or refunding the price you paid for the grinder. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Your statutory rights
Piper Care is in addition to your rights under consumer law. Where those laws give you greater rights than these terms, those laws apply.
13.1 Australia. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
13.2 New Zealand. If you are a consumer in New Zealand, this warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, which cannot be excluded. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
13.3 United States. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limits on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
13.4 Canada. Some provinces, including Quebec, give consumers legal warranties that cannot be excluded. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
13.5 United Kingdom. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
13.6 European Union. This commercial guarantee is in addition to the legal guarantee of conformity for goods, which lasts at least two years from delivery and is free of charge.
13.7 Singapore. This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, including remedies for goods that are defective within six months of delivery.
14. Privacy
We use the details you give at registration to provide Piper Care, contact you about your grinder and process claims, as described in our Privacy Policy at https://www.piper.now/policies/privacy-policy. Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. If you live outside Singapore, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where those laws allow.
